Before You Begin
- You need a plan that includes time-off management (Professional and up).
- Set your region so the correct public holidays apply.
- Decide who approves absence requests on your team.
- Set annual allowances and record any carried-over vacation (Resturlaub).
Understand absence types and entitlements
Start by reviewing what employees can request and how much time they have.
- 1 Review the available absence types such as vacation, sick leave, and parental leave.
- 2 Check each person's annual allowance for the year.
- 3 Record any carried-over vacation (Resturlaub) from the previous year.
- 4 Confirm balances are correct before requests start coming in.
Submit an absence request
Employees create requests in a few clicks from the Absences area.
- 1 Open Absences in the main navigation.
- 2 Choose the absence type and the start and end dates.
- 3 Add an optional note to give your manager context.
- 4 Submit the request for approval.
Approve or reject as a manager
Managers review each request with the impact on the team in full view.
- 1 Open the pending request from the Absences area.
- 2 See the impact on team capacity for the requested dates.
- 3 Choose to approve or reject the request.
- 4 Add a note to explain your decision to the employee.
Configure public holidays per region
Regional holidays should never count against someone's allowance.
- 1 Set your region so the right public holidays apply.
- 2 In Germany, select the correct Bundesland for each location.
- 3 Let OneBob exclude regional public holidays from absence counts automatically.
- 4 Configure holidays before the year starts so counts stay accurate.
View absences on the calendar and in forecasts
Approved time off shows up everywhere you plan work.
- 1 Use the team calendar to see who is away and when.
- 2 Apply filters in the list views to focus on a person, type, or period.
